Mechanism of Size Reduction .

# There are Four Mechanism of the Size Reduction they are as Follows :

1. Cutting :

cut by means of the sharp blades .

Example : -  cutter mill 

2. Compression:

material is crushed between roller by the application of the pressure .

Example : -  roller mill .

3. Impact : 

lump of material strikes the rotating hammer the material splits apart .

Example :- hammer mill .

4. Attrition :

breaking down of the material by rubbing action between two surfaces .

Example : -  fluid Energy mill .

Laws Governing Size Reduction  :

there are theree laws which govers the size reduction  are as follows  :-

1. kicks law .

2. Rittingers law .

3. Bonds law .
